Energy Flex Plan

(Top)

Ozarks Electric’s Energy Flex Plan allows you to save money by reducing your power use during high-demand times.

Ozarks Electric’s Energy Flex Plan is based on the time of day you use electricity and our cost of supplying electricity to you during that time. If you use electricity when the total used by all Ozarks Electric members is low (off-peak) your rate will be lower than the standard rate. On-peak hours or electricity used during periods of high demand will cost more than the standard rate.

When you shift your electric use to time periods of lower demand (off-peak), you can potentially save hundreds of dollars each year. Shifting your electric use to off-peak hours helps Ozarks Electric avoid peak demand charges, and we can pass those savings on to you and our members. The Energy Flex Plan was available in 2022 to the first 1,000 Arkansas members who sign up before 5 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2022. The sign-up period for this pilot program has ended. We will analyze the results before potentially offering the rate to all our members.

With our best bill guarantee, you can try the Energy Flex Plan with no risk. At the conclusion of one year of service, the member’s billing will be compared to billing for the same period under the General Service 1-phase rate. If the amount actually paid by the member is higher than what would have been paid under the General Service 1-phase rate, the member will receive a credit for the full amount of the difference. This provision will only be applied at the end of the initial year of service and will not be available in ensuing years.

Energy Flex Quiz

Answer the questions below to see if the Energy Flex rate could be a good fit for your household.

Score:

Traditional Rate

(Top)

With our traditional rate structure, you pay the same low rates no matter what time of day you use the most power. Choose this rate plan if you don't want to worry about limiting your energy use during certain times of the day, or have many large appliances that constantly use power.

The Traditional rate also offers billing options such as Levelized Billing and SmartPay that are not available on the Energy Flex Plan.

EV Charging Rate

(Top)

With the Electric Vehicle Charging Rate, you can save money charging your electric vehicle during the off-peak hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily at a reduced rate.

To take advantage of the EV Charging Rate, you must have a Level 2 charger and program it to charge during the off-peak hours. The first 400 kWh each month are then discounted to $0.05480/kWh, with excess off-peak usage billed at the standard rate.
